![]() They are fun and useful tricks, but intentionally hidden in a way to make finding them without hearing about it first very unlikely. They are not granted by beating the game, and players are not even informed about them upon beating the game. The Hado and Shoryu are not in anyway way rewards for beating the game. Even Metal Blade, often cited as one of the most OP weapons in all of Mega Man, does no damage to some of the stage enemies and about half of the bosses in Mega Man 2. It isn't useful in every situation, but then, few weapons are. On the weather control stage shooting the orbs with it will make the section cloudy and the make some enemies disappear. In the X-Hunter stages it can be used to avoid dealing with the directional platform in the long vertical shaft, to reach the Shoryuken ladder, and to get across the spiky corridor before Agile. ![]() ![]() Since you made an example of it, the Crystal Hunter is helpful in several sections aside from collecting Morph Moth's heart tank. Between that and reusing the intro stage music, they're doing the whole "bring the story full circle" thing. It's explained in that Japanese lore you were discussing, and in the Japanese version of the game Sigma even says to meet him in the Central Computer stage when he talks to X at the end of the boss rush. It's where they held their meetings since that first post-intro stage cutscene and from that mainframe is they spread the Sigma Virus across the world. The last level returns to the Central Computer stage because that was where the X-Hunters' real base of operations was. It's nice when when puzzles have multiple solutions depending on your route. You also don't need to revisit Kuwanger to get that heart in X1. In fact, all the heart and sub tanks can be collected without any armor parts, which is helpful since you get a little bonus during the end credits if you beat the game as plain old X. That bubble crab sub tank can be gotten with a slope jump and water skip without any boss weapons or armor parts. With route planning, X2 requires no backtracking. Watched the whole thing, felt like responding.
